Instead of performing future scheduled replacements of fossil-fuel-based systems, the Client pivoted their focus to using available capital funds to convert the building’s fossil-fuel systems to clean-heat all-electric technologies, paving the way for a carbon-free future. PVEDI’s services included detailed surveys/walkthroughs of the building’s energy-impacting components and systems and schematic calculations of energy-saving solutions via an ASHRAE Level 1 energy audit. Using the results, recommendations, and favorable return-on-investments from certain energy upgrade analyses, PVEDI helped outline a short-term capital improvement plan to assist the Client in creating a tangible design/construction plan. In addition, PVEDI has provided ongoing assistance with the Client’s applications to various energy rebate programs and NYSERDA’s Affordable Multi-Family Energy-Efficiency Program, which have been projected to produce approximately 340,000 of rebates across all 12 buildings. PVEDI is also providing assistance with other applications.
