Foundry at 41st Street

PVEDI provided civil engineering and site design for the redevelopment of a former industrial site in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood. Several challenges that were successfully overcome included the stormwater management of the environmentally-impacted site and the connection to the existing sewer infrastructure in this area of the City. The project also included the development of Bay 41, an outdoor gathering and connective space which serves as an amenity to both Foundry residents and the surrounding community. Bay 41 is the skeletal remains of a crane bay housed in the former industrial facility. The skin was removed to expose the steel framing which arches over the formerly vacated 41st Street.
