PVEDI provided environmental services on an 18,500-square foot underutilized and contaminated parcel of land. The project included the investigation and remediation of a former auto-wrecking facility, junkyard, and manufacturing facility in East New York, Brooklyn.Through NYC’s Voluntary Cleanup Program, PVEDI provided environmental cleanup of petroleum and PCB contamination to a depth of 20 feet below grade with vapor mitigation services. Environmental remediation was performed to render the site protective of hazardous material, noise, and air quality impacts for the redevelopment of an affordable housing community that includes 123 affordable units (16 for mobility impaired, 3 for visual/hearing impaired, 8 for seniors, 31 MIH, and 10 for women subject to substance abuse/ domestic violence).
