The Hampton Township Community Park Pond Maintenance & Enhancement Project’s overall objective involves performing maintenance per DEP MS4 requirements and enhancing the existing pond to render it suitable for accessible educational recreation opportunities for the community, as outlined in the Township Comprehensive Plan. The project work, already underway, will be completed in three phases: Phase 1: Clearing of existing trees, woody vegetation, and brush from pond embankment and perimeter to accommodate future enhancements. Phase 2: Identification and remediation of problem areas, including stormwater management capacity and bank stabilization, and the addition of sediment forebays and aeration system to reduce algae and improve water quality. Phase 3: Establishment of Pond Aquatics Education Trail and addition of tree plantings around the pond in accordance with Hampton Township’s Community Park Phasing Plan.
