The GetGo #3127 gasoline station and convenience store in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania underwent a Pennsylvania DEP site characterization after petroleum impacts were discovered during 2024 underground storage tank (UST) system upgrade activities. Environmental services performed at the site included regulatory notifications, oversight during the tank system closure, and the targeted excavation and off-site disposal of approximately 50 tons of impacted soil from a dispenser area.A comprehensive site characterization was also completed through the advancement of soil borings, confirmatory soil sampling, and a soil vapor intrusion evaluation.Analytical testing for gasoline-related constituents showed that remaining soils met applicable non‐residential Statewide Health Standards, no groundwater was encountered during subsurface activities, and soil vapor sampling confirmed there was no vapor intrusion risk to the on-site structure. An evaluation of potential exposure pathways—including direct contact, groundwater use, and vapor migration—determined that all were incomplete. As a result, the site was able to demonstrate attainment and achieve liability protection without the need for additional remediation.
