PVEDI provided Local Law 87 (ASHRAE Level 2 Energy Audit) services, with a particular emphasis on feasibility studies and payback periods of full electrification of heating and domestic hot water services. Each of the five buildings on the property is heated by a dual-fuel (primarily natural gas, secondarily #4 fuel oil) one-pipe “scotch-marine” boiler, which also provides domestic hot water to apartments via an integral tankless coil. PVEDI carried out detailed energy modeling services (using computer-based Trace 3D Plus software), cost estimations, feasibility studies, and economic payback periods that outlined short- and long-term pathways towards significant building de-carbonization and energy cost savings.
