PVEDI was retained to oversee and implement NYSDEC-approved remedial actions at a petroleum-impacted former gasoline station, including baseline groundwater characterization, full excavation and closure of four underground storage tanks (including one previously undocumented), and comprehensive removal and off-site disposal of impacted media. Field activities included real-time PID screening, waste characterization sampling, and management of over 1,800 tons of petroleum-contaminated soil, impacted concrete, and groundwater. PVEDI also directed post-excavation delineation sampling, forensic analysis to evaluate release history, and in-situ remediation through targeted PetroFix injections. The project concluded with backfilling using approved materials, regulatory documentation, and a demonstrated removal of on-site source material to support spill closure with NYSDEC.
