Getgo #3288 – Titusville

GetGo #3288, located at 103 South Perry Street in Titusville, PA, underwent comprehensive Pennsylvania DEP corrective action following a 2025 underground storage tank (UST) piping release. The facility operates as an active gasoline station and convenience store and is supported by a UST system originally installed July 1997.

During routine annual line tightness testing, the premium unleaded gasoline product transfer line failed the pressure test, prompting further investigation. The release was ultimately traced to a corroded fitting at the end of what appeared to be an abandoned product transfer line. A Notification of Release was submitted to PADEP on April 10, 2025, after which PVED completed site characterization and interim remedial activities. These included developing a Conceptual Site Model, advancing soil borings, installing a multi-well monitoring network, and conducting repeated soil and groundwater sampling for petroleum-related constituents. Findings indicated no soil impacts exceeding regulatory standards and only limited, localized groundwater impacts restricted to on-site monitoring wells. Remediation efforts have included free-product recovery and ongoing groundwater monitoring, with a planned transition to monitored natural attenuation supported by quarterly compliance reporting to PADEP. Evaluations of potential exposure pathways—such as vapor intrusion, direct contact, and off-site migration— determined all to be incomplete or otherwise controlled due to the commercial nature of the site and reliance on municipal water service. Overall, the project illustrates comprehensive UST release management, regulatory compliance, risk evaluation, and effective remedial strategies aimed at achieving site closure and liability protection for an active retail fuel facility.
