PVEDI prepared an application for the site of the former Hudson River Psychiatric Center to be accepted into the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP), and satisfy all program requirements. There are currently 19 vacant structures on the property, some listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The developer is proposing the construction of a town center-style development featuring 200 residential units, retail, commercial spaces and walking/biking trails. PVEDI negotiated a Remedial Investigation Work Plan with NYSDEC representatives and ultimately completed three phases of Remedial Investigations that included excavation.
